"I have attended Maine South High School for 2 years. All of my teachers and counselors that I have been in contact with have been so supportive and helpful to my academic needs. There are plenty of resources around the school for extra help, including the math lab, science support center, peer tutors, and private meetings with your teachers. These resources when utilized have really helped me excel in many of my difficult classes. Along with academics, several clubs and sports are offered at Maine South and these extra curricular activities have made me some amazing friends and some of the best memories of my High School experience. The staff at Maine South truly aims for the best high school experience to all of their students academy and socially."

"My freshman year I transferred from a Chicago Public School to a suburb school and I automatically saw the difference. The resources we have from computers to books to teachers ready to help are incredible."

"Maine South High School created memories that I will never forget. From the volunteer color-runs to the Friday night football games, Maine South kept each and every student involved and held a great sense of community. This high school knew how to treat students right. Our student council listened. Our staff members responded. And our community as a whole kept the school at the top of the list for academics, athletics, clubs, volunteer opportunities, etc. Being a Maine South Alum truly means something to the town and it is what keeps everyone connected."

"My high school career at Maine South was a very communal one. When it comes to raising money or coming together, whether for losses or for gains, you always felt as though you were part of something bigger. Our school works really hard trying to make a difference not just within our district and our school, but within our community. Doing this have even shown an improvement in recent student academics and involvement within the school."

"Maine South was overall a very good high school. By the time I left, I was well prepared for the competitive university atmosphere. However, this was not without backbreaking work (seriously my backpack used to weigh 30+ pounds) and some tough decisions. I was involved in sports, clubs, and accelerated/AP classes, and felt my education was really good. Most teachers were awesome and encouraged fun learning, excluding a good number in the math department (and as an inspiring engineer I can say I wasn't bad at math in the first place, so that's saying something). There are things that could be done better, and the social atmosphere definitely needs some work, but hey, it's high school, and I'm glad it's done with. Safety was never an issue, although I can say exhaustion was. This school will break you down and build you back up into an intelligent, functioning member of society."
