"New Tech High @ Zion Benton East is one of the best choices I ever made when thinking about my future education. The thing that makes this school so unique is the project based learning, the amount of technology that is incorporated into each students learning, and taking dual college credit class. The PBL program is where each class has multiple projects each semester to teach students about a certain topic. An example would be in my American History class. My teacher wanted the class to learn about the 1920's, so he set up a rubric and checklist. The project outcome for this topic was going to be a scrapbook that we created ourselves about any topic that involved the 1920's; whether about authors, prohibition, or gangsters. Technology is a large part of New Tech life. In every classroom one will see a little more than 20 computers to a classroom. Although, last years and this years incoming freshman get new chrome books, there are still many computers in classrooms for the sophomores, juniors, and seniors. New Tech isn't just great because they have multiple computers that students use to type a paper or create a power-point, but also students can create posters on videos on programs like Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Premiere. In Freshman year, students will learn how to use Photoshop. In Junior year, a student will take a whole class on how to use Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Premiere. When attending New Tech, a student will have the chance to take dual college credit classes, but only students who are Juniors and Seniors can take the classes. When a student is a sophomore, they take a test to determine if they are eligible to take the classes. Junior year, my fellow classmates and I took college courses on American Decades, Critical Thinking, Intro to Media, and Internet Fundamentals. Student, by the end of their Senior year, will have up 24 free college credits and high school credits for those classes."

"The schools technique's are so far my favorite. I am more of a visual learner and that's what the school strives for they try to make the best out of learning and people can memorize things better by these project based learning school in my views. The school could be a little better as building wise and how organized it could be for the school years, but overall it's a great school."

"The teachers at New Tech High @ Zion Benton East really care about the students that attend the high school. Since the school is project and technology based, the teachers don't teach us while we are in a classroom full of desks. Instead they have us working on whatever project is assigned, and if we need help they are open to have workshops to teach us what we want to learn to be able to complete the project. When it comes to grading, the teachers grade on our professionalism in class and projects, written literacy, critical thinking, technology literacy, and so many more categories. The teacher's interest in students is very strong, because in a small school students and teachers can have a closer connection. If a student is struggling, the teacher will ask them if they need any extra help or anything at all; and if the student does need help the teacher will go above and beyond to help the student be where they need to be."

"I've had some amazing teachers at New Tech Zion Benton. They can be caring and considerate of their students, and they try to help as much as they can. The teachers try to focus on students that seem to need the most help or have trouble listening to them like they are expected to do and a lot of students take them for granted. The teachers work hard to give their students what they think will help them the best in the future and that's what New Tech is all about!"
