"This school has so many helpful resources: counselors, psychologists, the science/ math resource center, the library, etc. Although art is displayed in the halls and during holidays, I feel sports definitely dominate this school. This school definitely lacks diversity. All school assemblies, announcements, posters, clubs etc. have powerful messages and meanings that are very encouraging to students, parents, and teachers. One strong complaint I have is the food. I wish school lunch was healthier: a salad bar, soups, simple sandwiches (grilled cheese, pb&j etc.) and fruit/ vegetables. I recommend bringing your own lunch. Overall this school has many helpful and great teachers willing to go above and beyond what is necessary. This school is also a fit for many students because of the diverse clubs and programs it has to offer."

"The academics, teachers, and safety measures are great, no complaints. Food is what you'd expect from a high school, although it is annoying that they now only offer diet sodas in vending machines, given that their many chemicals actually make them less healthy than regular sodas. As for athletics, an outrageous amount of funding is given to the football team, and most other teams are left without sufficient funding. This is especially puzzling because our football team is quite terrible, and (for the most part) shouldn't even be eligible to play under IHSA off-field conduct rules."

"North High School prepared me very well for college. I was involved in many activities while there and always had something to do. The teachers were very involved in my learning and were very willing to take out of class time to go over something if you were having trouble. The food was decent with some healthy options."

"I was bullied my senior year and it ruined many of my high school friendships and memories. That being said, Downers Grove North was an amazing school with amazing opportunities. I was prepared for college (as prepared as one can be) and while I personally struggled I think it made me stronger and more appreciative of my friends and environment. While it is a more affluent community, there are very high expectations for students. Kids drove nice cars but not too flashy. Football games were a big deal but not 'shut down the town, everyone goes' big. Parents were involved but I never felt out of place when my mom missed sporting events. While I had some negative experiences, I know the educational system wasn't part of it."

"High school is not a fun time for most teenagers, but the amount of resources available and teacher involvement made my experience much better. I believe I got a lot more out of my experience because of the awesome staff. The wide variety of classes available also helped me figure out what I want to pursue in college and as a career."
