"Great science program, most of the teachers are very helpful and supportive. Air conditioning works well. Discipline isn't always consistent."

"As a current student, I believe that Bureau Valley does the best with its resources. The administration tries their hardest, but one of the Athletic directors (Mrs. Litherland) has a complex that she is better than anyone. Many people dislike her and also the superintendent (Dr. Endress) has problems keeping his religion out of the school although we are not a religious affiliated school. Overall, I believe that Bureau Valley is a great school."

"This High school has a lot of fund issues and have had to cut many programs but they are very good at making the most of what they have."

"I would say that the majority of my teachers know what they're teaching and are passionate about teaching it. While there are minor differences from teacher to teacher, there are quite a few that adhere to common core. As of right now, the schedule is based on a every-other-day class periods - there are 8 classes per student each semester, but we only take each class every-other-day. The workload for each class depends on the subject and the teacher, but I'd say it's manageable for the most part. There's a homeroom period and a study hall period everyday to work on homework or get extra help while teachers are still at school."

"Foreign language teachers are wonderful. English teachers are good & bad; but, the good ones make themselves available to all, if help is needed. There is a writing lab. Science teachers are wonderful. Math teachers are good and make themselves available for help outside of the classroom. Scheduling can be very confusing. Workload is reasonable. Curriculum is good. The major plus of this school is that there are excellent teachers in each department; and, those excellent teachers make themselves available to students who really want to learn, regardless of whether students are in their class or not."
