"The atmosphere at this school is very high pressure and just overall pretty bad, in my opinion. The majority of the students going here are the children of people involved in academics (myself included) and are thus pressured by their parents to excel at their education. They're very intelligent but they propagate the notion that you have to get the best grades or else your life is over. Expect your peers to complain about not getting enough sleep and the intense workload the classes have. If you have existing issues with anxiety and depression (this also includes myself) I would recommend not going to this school. Now, this is not to say that my time here has been completely terrible--I have learned a lot in this school and amazingly enough I've made some friends here, but if it weren't for them I probably would have killed myself by now."

"Generally the teachers at this school do a good job at teaching and managing a class, although the quality of instruction varies from teacher to teacher--I find the ones that combine lecturing with powerpoints and brief discussions to be the most engaging. However, if a student is struggling they need to take the initiative to get help from a teacher themselves"

"You learn a lot in every class you take at University High School and the teachers are really good about not making the lessons extremely boring and difficult to pay attention. They also trust us as students very well and give us a lot of freedom with our work and habits that, I believe, helps prepare you for college when you will have to be more independent with your work and studying and need to prioritize often. Its a great school with great teachers that care about us as a person and as a student. I'm glad this is my school."

"I would definitely choose to go to my current school again! Not only is the educational system great, but also the school spirit is fantastic! Having themes for games and cheering on the bleachers are some of the highlights in high school for me because of how much fun games were and cheering on my peers with all of my friends and family at my school."
