"The parents of the students at the high school are not as concerned with what their child should be doing. They would rather try to be their friend than actually discipline them. There are very few parents who actually care about how hard their child is trying in school."

"I have attended Vandalia High School for 4 years now and my experience has been great. I think the more involved you are with clubs and sports helps you grow and enjoy high school. There are some really great teachers here who know how to help each student individually as well."

"This school focuses too much on rewards for doing the right thing as part of pbis which is a program for trying to get students to be respectful, responsible and ready. This program is often ridiculous."

"We always seem to draw in a lot of people for athletic events at the school, but that's it. Parents don't support the school very much. Also, we're in a lot of debt. Well, the state is, so they don't fund us as much as we need. But we're finally getting air conditioning for next year. We used to just sit in class and sweat the whole entire time. Who can really get work done when their clothes are soaked from it? Our school events are pretty entertaining, for the students that go there, but usually someone will start smoking pot or something so we all have to go back to class. We can't wear tank tops to school, because our shoulders are "distracting", but that's a whole other conversation. Overall, we could use some more teachers and more classes to take. Vandalia High School is very limited to what their students can take and learn. It's kind of disappointing."
