"Again this school is okay. I do have some great memories like learning my love for mathematics, computer science, and chemistry. But to me that is all due to the fact I had great teachers who taught that stuff to me well. I have come to apply myself and really strive to learn out of the classroom. I have also had a falling hatred for English formed in this school; which I explained on the last page. I do have to admit though that most of the students here are great people and I found myself making a lot of friends. The students are the real treasure to this school. The reason I am unsure if I would attended a different school or not if i got a do over is because I am not sure what experiences a new school would hold for me. I have made some good friends with several teachers and students whom I dearly cherish. I don't know if at other schools i'd make the same valuable connections I've made here. With that said is the reason why I am unsure if I would attend a new school or not."

"I have a few friends from other schools and sometimes it feels like the grass is greener on the other side. It seems someday people might be more down to earth and accepting somewhere else. In reality it is high school. Kids aren't going to be the best all the time, no matter where you go. Either way, I am glad I am attending Parkway South. I have a great group of friends that I wouldn't trade for the world. Everyday I like that there is always something new to do or someone new to meet. So I would chose this school again if I had to do it over. We might not win our football games on Friday nights be we sure have fun at them! Our student section and our spirit is unmatched by other schools. Some of my favorite experiences have been at schools, with my friends, at the pep rallies, at other special events, and just on the day to day."

"Overall, I do like my school. There are so outstanding teachers here. However, most do the bare minimal and some are just awful. The greatest of teachers, in my opinion, come from the math and science departments. Most of the teachers I have had in these are excellent. They're engaging, smart, and really make learning a enjoyable thing. They make me feel confident with what I am being taught and, effectively convey the material to be learned in a manner that is easy to understand. In the English department however, I believe there is a lacking in good teaching and lesson plans. My biggest issue with English is that it all depends on what teacher you get. Some teachers will teach you grammar, writing techniques, proper essay format and more. While others will assign book after book and make you read and take notes on them. Students in the same class as me with two different teachers will be taught different things based on what the teacher thinks is important. It's ridiculous. I realized this issue when I took my ACT I was annoyed that grammar wasn't re-enforced and reviewed through the years. Instead it was book after book and essay after essay. I found myself having to reteach and review grammar for myself to stay on top. Also on this matter most teachers wouldn't mark your grammar mistakes in essays. This really makes me mad because how are we supposed to know if we are doing it right or not. In addition some English teachers would grade essays differently with the same rubric. One teacher might like my essay a little less then another and thus, give me a lower grade."

"I am no perfect student, no one is. A thing I love about Parkway South is that I have been able to connect with so many teachers. All my siblings and I have had a diverse group of teachers, but rarely encountered a problem. Like I said I am not perfect, I have had struggles with a few teachers at my school, but I have never thought they were bad at what they do. I have always learned from every single one of them. Every teacher is different when it comes to the way they teach, which is good because it keeps the day interesting and engaging. I've never had issues with teachers lacking knowledge or interest. Any problems I have encountered have been my fault and the teacher is just trying to help me. So now it is my senior year, and I will be off to a big university. I know there is going to be a part of me that misses high school, and that's because of the teachers that were there with me every step of the way."

"We do offer a very wide range of classes. However I would really like to talk about the sexual education at South. To say I am angered by it is a understatement. The health teachers mainly only teach abstinence. Contraceptives are a brief 10 minute discussion then shut down for the wrest of the unit. Now, i'm not going around having a bunch of sex or anything but it would be nice to know for future reference. Also genitals are a big thing shied away from. When I was going through puberty I didn't know what was normal or not and I wish I was taught more in depth about it to know. Other then that all the classes are pretty highly accredited, besides english, in my opinion."
