"This school prepares students for college well thru rigorous academic studies and extracurriculars. The teachers care for the students academically and emotionally. Although Metro is a small school, the students and teachers are as close as a family while going through struggles and successes together."

"Metro is hurting in recent years, as the school has lost funding and some very good teachers. However, if you want a school that will prepare you for college for free, Metro is your best choice. Yes, there's a lot of work, but it's for a purpose. If you want to succeed and are prepared to work for it, Metro will help you fulfill your ambition. Just be prepared to deal with uneven teachers, a culture that accepts and glorifies student failure, a DANGEROUS surrounding area, and some bonehead administrators."

"What I liked about this school is its IB program, which is very helpful for college readiness. Most of the teachers are pretty good at teaching, but some are not. What this school should improve on is its resources, including more technology, better printers; overall, better funding."

"I loved my experience at Metro. Open campus is honestly one of the most amazing things. The teachers are, for the most part, super supportive and cool to talk to."

"The school community is the best thing about it, on a student level. Most of the students respect each other. However, teacher-student relationships are often, or rather always lacking, and there is little consistency (8 new teachers were hired in the summer of 2016). While there is plenty to say both in defense and in attack (is that the right word) of Metro, the big points are: Academics are rigorous, but expects too much of us, teacher-student relationships need improvement, and overall morale is poor. Cheating at Metro is common, and even some teachers acknowledge the ridiculous requirements put upon us. I'll end it here before I write a whole essay."
