"RHS is hailed as one of the most diverse and tolerant schools in STL. We don't care about where you came from, what clothes you wear, what music you listen too. We care about how you treat others, how you act in certain situations (like when something serious just happened), how much you contribute to the whole, and most importantly: are you someone who will stick with us when the going gets tough. I was told a few years ago that students who form strong friendships at ritenour usually keep them for the majority of their lives, a lot more than at most other schools. We form bonds here."

"The teachers at my school are of a unique variety. Many of them are there well before and well after school in order to not only grade assignments but help students with any and all questions they may have. My personal experiences with the teachers are all very positive, being able to engage them in discussions and even challenge them on a topic in class without them feeling like they're superior, oftentimes even looking up the answer to a disputed fact and giving the student praise if they are able to correct them; should the student be wrong they also explain the event in greater detail as to explain the misunderstanding. The teachers who are involved with clubs also willingly participate with their students instead of sitting around while the kids run the show. Even those not officially involved with clubs due to time constraints will stop in and help out with/participate in whatever activity is happening. While of course not every teacher is perfect, many of them are the best we as students could ask for. They treat us like humans, not as babies, they give us guidance and are willing to help us with personal issues if we should so ask. The teachers at Ritenour High School are some of the best PEOPLE I have ever met, they just so happen to be teachers on the side."

"This school is a great school, despite what everyone seems to say about it. The people who go here are the ones that make the opinions, but if you take a step back you can see an administration that really cares about it's students, even if the students don't care back. The student body is like every other student body, we want to get out of their as quick as we can; some of us just coast on Cs and graduate with a Two-O and other's actually try and graduate at the top, but either way, we all want to be done. The staff Understands and they attempt to give us as much enjoyment as they can with the time they have with us, getting to know us as people, not just students. A good chunk of the teachers and admin's actually graduated from RHS and returned because of the impact it made on them, and if that doesn't speak to the quality of the school, i don't know what will."

"The Academics at this school are good, they truly are, but there are a few things that bring it down, such as the recent over-reliance on technology-based lessons. There have been several days where some of my teachers have had to more-or-less wing it because the internet was being slow/completely down, and that really shouldn't happen. Another issue is the scheduling mishaps that happen at the beginning of every year: they have asked us to give them our schedules in february or march ever since i've been there and yet it never fails that in August, the majority of students always have severely messed up schedules. Why do we give them our requests that early if we have to fix them at the beginning of the year anyways? what are they doing all those 7 months??? These two are the only things I think are noteworthy that cause the academics to be not up to their best, but they are major and need to be fixed immediately."
