"I like going to Blackwell High school because it is smaller so I feel like it has been easier to get to know fellow classmates and under classmen. I don't like the school because we do not have enough funding, support and resources. Unless you enroll as a concurrent student or go to the technology center (30 minutes away!) the classes at the high school are limited. We only have one Pre-AP/AP class and that's English and its only offered for one hour in the afternoon. We limit our sports, excluding; volley-ball, soccer, tennis and others. The school is not very diverse, we teach Spanish and that is it. The school does not ever have any field trips that enrich the students and show them what they are learning can be applied out side of school."

"Some of the teachers and parents butt heads. Especially when the teachers expect us to clear our schedules so they can be the center of attention."

"Blackwell, Oklahoma is a small "country" style town, so it goes to say that our teachers are not necessarily the "cream of the crop." I feel like for the most part the teachers here try their best to work with the students but sometimes they do not have the resources to accommodate their students appropriately. Our teacher's double their jobs, working as couches and organizing school events so they tend to miss a handful of days. When a teacher must be gone we have recently had to start sitting in our (cafeteria) common area because the school cannot afford substitutes. With everything they have to handle sometimes the teachers come unprepared with a lesson plan so we have to do a worksheet. The school allows us a period about twenty minutes long in the middle of each day just before lunch so if we missed class or something we can go make up work or talk to the teachers. The teachers are not selective, they help every student."
