"The teachers are great, but could be a little better with their teaching skills. The curriculums aren't hard and very manageable. The scheduling process could be a hassle at times, but the knicks are usually resolved. The workload is decent for my first year being a freshman in high school and participating in a Collegiate academy. There's not really any popular classes, just some students are well-known because of participating in extra-curricular activities."

"My experience so far at David W. Carter Collegiate Academy, as well as the regular section of the high school, has been fairly decent. My classes aren't as rigorous as I thought they were going to be, so far. I enjoy the extra-curricular activities they offer and all the academic programs you can join. This school is unique from other high schools because they color-coordinate the different grade levels by uniform color and ID badge color. Our motto at Carter High, is We Can... And We Will! We don't discriminate students, due to their apparel, but their character. We strive for excellence and support one another. The only factor that I personally disagree with, is that we cannot wear the jacket or hoodie of our choosing. As long as there's no profanity expressed, we should be able to wear the jacket of our choosing."

"The social scene is diverse. Students are involved in after school clubs and activities. Students are quite accepting and I haven't found any signs of peer pressure, not that I am searching. At Carter, we don't care what race/ethnicity you are, we accept you as you are. Sexual orientation isn't really a problem because some students enjoy having friendly relationships with those whose choosing of sexuality is different from theirs."

"I'm in the collegiate part of Carter High School and the teachers teach efficiently, but some teachers fail to teach to the students understanding or assume that students understand the concepts that are being taught. Some teachers don't even care about teaching or helping students, as long as they're getting a paycheck. On the other hand, some teachers are passionate about their teaching and may do what's necessary to help students and make sure they're passing above average."
