"Overall, most teachers are willing to go above and beyond to ensure your success in their class, but at the same time, you are expected to initiate the helping process. Every teacher that I had at Incarnate Word had a vast amount of knowledge on their given subjects. Some teachers had so much knowledge that sometimes it was difficult for them to teach at a more simplistic level for students who were struggling. Despite that obstacle, the teachers do have a genuine concern for students and will often stay after hours to help and will sometimes recommend an outside tutor."

"Being an all-girls school can be daunting for incoming students but being surrounded by a bunch of girls who were incredibly motivated and supportive of each other helped shape me into the person I am today. There are a vast amount of club, sports, academic, and volunteering opportunities that IWA provides and taking advantage of those is key to having a great school experience. In terms of uniqueness IWA tops the chart. Being located in downtown gives students the opportunities to visit the surrounding business/landmarks such as Minute Maid, Discovery Green, the Theatre District, and even a conference hosted by Price Waterhouse. The leadership program in particular is what makes IWA shine. The amount of leadership opportunities that are to be earned can open doors for you and form you into a leader that makes a difference in the world. With that said, there are some things that could use change here (athletic dept.) but overall IWA was an invaluable experience that allowed me to get into my 1st choice college with with an incredible scholarship, so for that i am forever grateful."

"At Incarnate Word Academy we work hard be we know how to party hard too. As a all girls school we all share in this sisterhood that is unlike anything I have ever seen. We work hard together to help each other do well in all of our classes but we do like to relax and have fun every now and then. One of my favorite things we did and in my opinion one of the most unique things Incarnate Word Academy does is Foundation day. What school has the street in from of the school blocked off for food trucks and have a bouncy house in the gym on the 4th floor and games all over the school. This past year has been the best year of my life I would do it all again because I loved every second of it."

"Every teacher that I habe had and even the teachers that I don't have are very friendly and always willing to help if you needed help. Every teacher is unique and diverse and that makes rvery class so amazing but so different. I try my hardest to not get sick or miss a day of class becuase we do so much in a day in every class you don't want to miss a word because even if you do the lesson at home it's still not the same as being in the class. I love coming to school everyday because every day I learn something new and are challenged to grow in my knowledge."

"Honestly it depends on the teacher. Most of my teachers have been fantastic. Some are labelled as difficult, but the truth of the matter is the subject itself is difficult. Regardless, they as teachers love what they do and go above and beyond to make it engaging and interesting. This is particularly true in the social studies dept., English dept., and my freshman biology class. However, my experience with certain other teachers has not been the best. Either they are not grading with consistency, or not really teaching, and administration doesn't really do much to guard against such practices. Then again there isn't much to do about it if people don't go to them with issues. Overall though I've had a good experience with my teachers and wouldn't trade my experience as a student at IWA for any other."
