"I've taught here for four years and this is one of the finest elementary schools in the district. The administrators are supportative and really care about the students. The teachers go above and beyond to help all students."

"I left this school last year to stay home with my new baby. I can't imagaine working for a pricipal that is more committed and passionate about her staff and students. Was it always easy, no bc as a staff we were pushed to learn more and do more for our students. I worked at other Alief schools and saw unfortunate administrative choices. I wasn't happy, so I left. I would never tear down someone like I have seen on this site. Holmquist's principal is willing to pull small groups, is openly available, and often in the classrooms. You wont find many admins that involved. If you follow what you are suppose to do (as with any boss) you wont have any problems and will gain more teaching freedom as with any pricipal. This principal is a strong leader ( which I guess some confuse with bullying) with a big heart for the students and her staff. It is unfortunate that some peoples negativitly is shadowing what postive work is being done at this school."

"The staff seem like they dont care about the parents concerns. I agree with another post with the dismissal issues. Even when I get there 25 minutes prior to dismissal it still takes them another 30 minutes to have the students in their proper places. I wish I had never moved in this area because this school is horrible. They really have organization problems. A lot of teachers have already left due to this. I think there are too many students that attend this school. They should build another one at least 5 miles away. I cannot wait until my lease is up so that I don't have to deal with Holmquist."

"It is a very supportive and hands on type of school My daughter will be participating in the New Dual Language progam started at Holmquist. We are excited to see how much she will be learning this year."
