"I loved how personal the student and teachers get because it creates such a good relationship and helps out the student a lot with the learning process. The one thing I may say that I would like to see a difference in is the way the wrong students get away with stuff and other are victims of the right doing."

"I attended Calvin nelms charter school for one year, they have about two sports and just added a yearbook club. The Charter school was originally for thugs but the children that attended the school are polite and divers. They deserve more school activities. It doesn't feel like a highschool. The staff is very moody . I felt unsafe for a while and the school need a nurse"

"Calvin Nelms is a very small school that has a tight-nit community of attendees. It is focused on academics primarily, so if you are expecting to be noticed by a coach from a university or want an extensive social experience like prom, then this is not the place for you. It is a no tolerance school that really emphasizes the academia aspect, but only to an extent. It is a little low budget with its science program, and there could be better qualified teachers in the school as well. I was at Nelms from 5th grade to graduation, and the one thing I would like to see change at the school is the amount of funds allocated to the STEM fields, and expanding the connection of the school to larger programs to help promote the students academic interactions."

"This school has amazing opportunities for all students. Starting one's junior year of high school the dual credit program starts. You can take classes each and every semester from junior to senior year. You can graduate with up to 21 credit hours of college credit. That's seven whole classes! Besides that their is an amazing guitar class and drama program. Aside from the academics, the school is a no tolerance, bully free school. Interviews are required to get in and if approved you must work hard and prove you want to be here to stay. The school has some strict rules when it comes to dress code. Some may say they are a little too strict, but how many schools allow dyed hair, piercings, and tattoos to be worn and uncovered? Over all the teachers are great! We have a variety of different teachers with their own personalities. This is a school I would recommend to parents everywhere."

"I am currently attending this school and i graduate in a few years. One thing I am certain of that will stay with me as I graduate from this school is the friendly atmosphere of not just the teachers but the students also. One of the most memorable experiences is when I got to attend the 2016 graduation. It was amazing to hear how student's coming into school came in many shapes and sizes but when they came despite what others might think of them and they enjoyed a time of peace and developed a great foundation for college. Many students truly believed that they would never walk across the stage without the encouragement, extra tutoring sessions and help for the staff. If I had the option to go back in time and choose whether or not I would still attend this school, I would still choose to come to this high school. The experience is definitely a life changing one. When I came to this school my grades were terrible. I am currently at a 3.8 gpa on a 4.0 scale because of the staff's willingness to help me fully comprehend the concepts being taught."
