"Folks are in the Military & I attended quite a few schools. When I got to Pearland High it felt like I went back to elementary school, very immature/sheltered students. The schools back east in RI paid more attention to school work & even prepared me for college by helping understand where I needed to be in life. The teachers were honest & knew who I was & I was able to understand the work. They interacted with all the students. In Cali, they really rushed me through many courses so I could catch up on needed curriculum so I could pass the grade I was in and it had to do it while attending current classes. So it was much harder and faster pace. The classes were also more ethnic in culture so I learned how to interact in life. The classes were average size and much work into college work. In Denver, a little different & not much learning was going on and was only book learning. In Pearland, was so disappointing as they were more into dress code, keeping their budgets and looking a certain type. I wish I never attended this school and tried to transfer a few times. I learned how not to be a certain way by all the people that I was around. Not a friendly school at all. Avoid if u can."

"I moved here from the Memorial area to buy a cheaper house and with it came a mediocre education. Everyone said, wow Pearland is great. No they are average but I will tell you they are exemplary because of the districting, there is a good place to live in Pearland and a bad place. Look at the zoning of the schools, they are haphazard at best. Pick the wrong neighborhood and you might as well have put your child in HISD. Dont waste your money, property taxes are three times the rate here and if you are in the wrong district the education is worthless."

"I have traveled the world & seen many effective educational systems. PISD educational system needs much improvements. The leadership is not there; faculty members are over worked and unadaptable, and can't control their classes; extracurricular activities are very limited and biased towards athletics; and profiling of students needs to stop . Also, faculty members need to stop focusing so much on student dress codes and tardies, instead use disgretion.Students miss more class time going to some computerized tardy station getting pass and detention. Turn names into admin & let them handle it. A student may needed to use the restrm(the alotted time btwn classes doesn't allow for this). Several students were told to take care of their personal habits at home. Faculty needs to communicate better w/ parents about the students not the school events. Shot out to Mr Bready, Mr Layne, & Ms Patterson."

"I graduated from Pearland in 2007 and was fully prepared for my further eduation at one of the top universities in the country. Pearland's education is impressive and the extracurricular activities it has to offer really wows colleges and employers to inhance your oppurtunities after high school."
