"The student body is lead poorly, and the teachers are excessively uncaring with the work provided to the students."

"What I really like about Elgin High School is the diversity among everyone. People at EHS do not care about the color of your skin, but instead focus on the kind of person you are."

"Many students that graduate from Elgin feel that they were not well prepared for college, but for me, that's not the case at all. The school offered a great AP program which allowed me to be a sophomore in college by the time I completed my junior year. They also offer Dual Credit courses with the ACC that is right down the street, although I found that it doesn't prepare you for a real university as well as AP. Aside from academics, the sports programs are well-coached and fun to participate in, clubs and organizations are not many but they have a wide variety. As far as safety, there was never any real threat and I never worried about coming to school."

"Overall, the teachers, curriculum, scheduling process, workload, studying options, etc are amazing! However, there isn't a wide variety of classes that expand past the core classes and typical fine arts / sport related extracurricular. That's understandable, though, as there is only so many teachers, space, etc."

"The school's student population is really diverse and overall very accepting when it comes to anything that would make a person seem "different". Although, a small portion of the school population can be the opposite and a little judgmental. Overall, though, the school population is friendly and kind."
