"If I had gone to any other school, I would either have scars all over or be six feet under. I, just like many other students at this school, was bullied in elementary. At ARS, I found a lot of other people like myself (and not like myself) that I could be friends with. As I have grown and figured out who I am, everyone around me has supported me. Even when I've lost friends they've never become bitter or started being mean to me. Our social dynamic makes us unique. No cliques, only fluid friend groups. No popular people or outcasts, only loud and quiet people who get along. Rumors stay within the groups they started in and never last for very long. The middle school is having a bullying problem, but the admin and teachers are working hard to teach them about bullying and stop this behavior, just like they taught the highschoolers when we were that age. If I had gone to a different school, I would have found myself at the bottom of the social ladder. Quiet, scared, lonely, lost, in constant pain. I would never, ever choose anywhere else."

"All the teachers at this school are amazing. I heard a few students talk about teachers they don't like, but that is going to happen no matter what. Sometimes two people just don't get along. The teachers, however, still treat the student like everyone else - even if the student feels like they aren't (After talking to the students who complain, I conclude that their troubles are mostly their fault, not the teacher's). The teachers always explain topics in a few different ways to make sure everyone understands, the majority of them always get grades in quickly (the only exception would be the English teachers, but they have hundreds of papers to read, think about, and grade, so it's understandable). The teachers always know what they are talking about - even if they have never taught their specific class before, they do a lot of work outside of class to make sure they are teaching the right materials. They are also always willing to talk to students about their grades."

"Our school recquires sophomores to take AP World History, juniors to take AP US History and AP English, and seniors to take AP English and one AP or dual credit science class. Upperclassmen also the option of taking a few different AP classes as their electives, such as computer science or, in previous years, AP Environmental Science. Another awesome and unique thing about ARS is our Pathways. Highschool students are in one of three pathways - Engineering, Media Tech, or Biomed. Each year students will take one class in their pathway. These paths teach students everything they need to know about these male-dominated STEM career paths. Media tech students learn how to film, act, edit, and animate. Engineering students learn about architecture, technology, and various kinds of engineering and lots of math. Biomed students learn about the human body, medical interventions, and different medical jobs. The overall workload of the school can be overwhelming to new students because it is very similar to a college workload. The great thing about this is that students are forced to learn good time management skills. If you can't do that, you will either fail or hurt yourself from stress and lack of sleep."
