"I had the honor of teaching at Saint Gabriel's Catholic School for over ten years. Families who attend SGCS receive an exceptional education. The faculty and staff are professionals, who truly care about each student's academic and spiritual growth. Saint Gabriel's will always hold a special place in my heart, and I cannot recommend it highly enough to families who are searching for a place to call "home"."

"We do not like the changes made by the "amazing and revered" principal last year. If it is not broken, why come in and change things? The diocese must have a secret agenda if they send this woman around to "clean house." Some of us liked the way it was before she came. It seems more conservative and generic now like a one size fits all school. Things are not always as they seem. Some of the worst people in history were very well liked and successful in the public eye. SGCS is a very "political" place as is all the Austin diocese. Be careful there."

"After 10 years and 3 kids attending St. Gab's I am still impressed! Our oldest has just graduated 8th grade, and we still have a 7th grader and 2nd grader following in the footsteps of their older brother. The teachers have been an absolute blessing! The leadership has been responsive, proactive, and open. The parents are SO involved, talented and supportive, that it really feels like you have a 'village' helping watch over your children. We have loved this school for 10 years now and recommend it highly. It offers a very challenging academic environment. They promote public speaking starting in 1st grade, teach strong writing skills, and are very technologically advanced with iPad's used in elementary and laptops in middle school. If a faith based school is important, St. Gab's should be considered. They are very open to ALL faiths, and celebrate Mass weekly. A gem in south Austin."

"Just to provide a little insight to the "interim" principal mentioned below, i want to provide you a little background at how professional and amazing and revered Dr. Knotts is. She is an amazing leader who brought St.. Gabriel's to the caliber it is today. She led the school a year after it opened and maintained her position from 2000-2008. The Middle School building is named after her and she is a continued leader in the community and a board member. Which is why she was called back to step in to make positive changes. Now she is moving to St. Michael's to do the same. Google her name, Dr. Judith Knotts. You will find her many successes and recognitions and pedigree even outside the st. Gabriel's community."

"I agree with the parent who recently reported a change under the interim leadership that has many parents concerned. During the 2012-13 school year, things were taken in a new direction with numerous well liked teachers who had been there for years suddenly not being asked to return. Students report disturbing events and all is not what it appears to be. The quality of instruction is fine but not really better than public school esp. when you consider the price for tuition. There is much hypocrisy in the leadership positions, and I believe they do not practice what they preach. If parents are singing praises, they need to dig a little and take off their rose colored glasses. If a place sounds too good to be true, it probably is. We will be happier elsewhere and we are not the only ones walking away. They do have a great drama department and beautiful grounds we will miss!"
