"Anderson is a very tough academic school. Our science and math department are excellent, but those who wish to enter said departments better be ready for long nights of homework and studying. As one who speaks from experience, I spend anywhere from two to five hours on a normal basis on just my science and math homework, but still only manage to pull out a low A to B. Our English and Social Studies departments are rather more laid back due to the lack of importance placed on them by administration. Our most popular classes would have to be our Health Science department. The teachers in said department are top of the line. They go above and beyond to really show students the real life details of what they are teaching, but they are also not afraid to slow down and explain something for a curious student."

"Anderson is very split. There are the stereotypical groups that run throughout Anderson, and once you are apart of one, it is very hard to try to move from one group to the other. Those who are at the top of the food chain are very close and they are not always so welcoming to new comers, but we all manage to find where we belong and get through the days. Typically students are respectful of the choices other's make and do not try to pressure them into doing other things, but those who are like me and tend to stay away from parties are constantly being pulled at to "take a risk" and join the party scene. Ethnic/ racial diversity as well as sexual orientation is no issue among the Trojans. We have people from all over the world and those who are sexually attracted to a range of people. We do not see this as a bad thing as we are used to it. We just accept it as every day life and tend not to make a big fuss about it."

"Some of the teachers at Anderson give teaching it there all! They always try to give a hundred and ten percent to try to make class more enjoyable while giving us usually advice; however, for the most part teachers barely care. They will do what is required of them and teach to the "test" so to speak, which is the STAAR test in the state of Texas. Textbook work and lectures are a regular occurrence at school, but teachers have to understand that not all students learn the same. Perhaps if they varied activities now and then, all students could be engaged. Anderson staff are almost all very knowledgeable in their field and are willing to provide extra help for those who are struggling to understand."
