"Although D'Evelyn may initially provoke a groan or a sarcastic scoff from its alumni, the school has proven to be a gem in the foundation of education. As a college prep school, D'Evelyn takes on the challenge and undoubtedly succeeds in preparing its students for their futures. Not only does D'Evelyn help lay a solid foundation when it comes to academics, but the intentionality of teachers and coaches also provides an incredible foundation for the students' growth in character, motivation, and personal development."

"Its a great academic school and will truely prepare you for college. However the gpa scale used at develyn does make getting into college more difficult unless you plan to stay in state."

"The school itself is alright. It overloads students with homework and tests. But it teaches you how to deal with stress. I wish the school offered real life classes, like cooking and shop still. Most of the teachers are pretty caring and helpful when it comes to the lessons."

"Very good school with good teachers that care for everyone of their students. The staff is nice and very friendly and the students get to know them on a personal level. The one thing that I think needs change is maybe a day or two where the time of school starts later than normal."

"D'Evelyn is top tier for education and does extremely well in preparing students to the demands of college through studying habits/test taking/course material etc. However, despite being a public school, D'Evelyn has a very small minority and most students come from a middle/upper class families. As a result, if a minority or lower income family children might find it harder to fit in. Clubs and classes are relatively limited as it is a smaller school but sports teams place fairly high in all categories. A simple Google search will show that in recent years, two former teachers have been convicted of a crime, but the 98% of the teachers who work at D'Evelyn genuinely care for a student's wellbeing and success. The school is just going through a rough patch with faculty."
