"Most of the teachers I had when I went to Douglas High were very friendly and approachable. It was really easy to go up to them and get the help I needed if I was struggling with a concept. Many of the teachers also work as hard outside the classroom as they do inside it, as they are coaching sports teams or running clubs on campus, in addition to teaching. Many of the teachers also use games or experiments to help engage the students in lessons. While most of the teachers at this school do these things, some do not, which is why I gave them the rating I did."

"The teachers are very approachable to struggling students and do well in their teachings. The curriculum isn't too rigorous. It is very easy to schedule classes and get into the ones you want. The workload is very manageable; no teacher gives out an unreasonable amount of homework. There are many opportunities to get help on campus, whether it's from a teacher or the tutoring program. There was lots of opportunity for students to take more challenging classes, such as Advanced Placement classes, as well as creative classes, like welding or ceramics."

"I really enjoyed my experience at the school due to the variety of classes, clubs, and sports to be involved in. I would choose to go to this school again because they have a better academic and sports record than most other schools in the valley. The teachers were good at what they did, and the faculty was respectful and understanding of its students."

"From what I had observed when attending this school, a great majority of the students are accepting of others in their race or sexual orientation. While peer pressure is a little bit of a problem, it didn't happen often enough to say it was a major issue in the school. Students were very involved in clubs, sports, and academics. They always had some sort of group to join."
