"It was terrible. The academics were awful and the teachers didn't really care about their students. The school focuses more on the arts than the academics, so the art programs there are very good."

"The kids have no personality, they're the same people and are all spoiled with rich parents. The teachers don't know how to help students emotionally and are very inconsistent with grades. Cliques are definitely a thing and it is very difficult to find a good friend if you are different. The only reason I'm still at this school is because there is one kid who is entertaining and I have socila anxety so moving will be hard."

"New Roads is riding on an old reputation. The politics between administration affect student life, and result in many things being overlooked. A social justice school that does not acknowledge the injustices within its own campus is a school that does not support. The social scene is cliquey - you either find your place or you don't. Classes are boring, dry, and tedious. Teachers are either hit, miss, or miss."

"This sounds like a school for the privileged only , as a parent of a middle schooler in LA unified it's unattainable financially a pipe dream if you will. With a 30,000 to 40,000 dollar yearly tuition . Is it a real gage of society as a whole ? Probably not . Much of our LA population is diverse , our family is Caucasian the minority here in greater LA . Being from New Tork originally I find the LA educational system dismal at best . Good public schools boxed into places like el segundo , for the west LA families , and Palos Verdes for South Bay for example . LA has some things to figure out if it wants a functional city as a whole . I'm not putting New Roads down by any means , it's just not attainable for almost all of LA students . Financial segregation ."

"New Roads is a very welcoming community. Teachers are always willing to help the students. Students can even call the teacher by their first name which creates a stringer relationship."
