"Teachers are great for the most part, there are a variety of rigorous courses, etc. All the academic classes, except for a few exceptions, are honors or AP classes. There is a framework for which classes to take each year (gets looser as you go up). For instance, you have to take a certain english class each year; you have no say in that. If you graduate this school, you'll graduate with at least a minimum of 4 AP classes, though in most cases, you'll graduate with around 10."

"There are pluses and minuses to Oxford. Though it doesn't really feel like a legit high school sometimes, here are some pros and cons I can list off from the top of my head: Pros: - very safe (barely any fights or drugs or other shady stuff on campus) - dances are mostly clean (only one or two couples grinding) - academically challenging - teachers are great - many clubs to join - uniform makes life easier - small (you know everyone's name in your grade + others outside your grade) - many opportunities if you reach for them (internships, scholarships, college trips, etc) - contrary to what many think, our sports aren't bad (we go to CIF for tennis, track & field, xc, baseball, etc) - 7-12 means you don't need to move to another atmosphere and get used to it for high school - bathrooms kept clean and we have legit mirrors, not those weird polished metal ones - campus is small = easy to walk to class - lunches are not bad (we have fresh-made hamburger grills now bc cafeteria revamped) Cons: - sheltered (sometimes I wonder how a "real" high school would be like) - small (only about 200 per grade which gets boring a bit fast) - not as many people = less cute people = sad - no stadium = no football team or cheerleading squad - no swimming pool (we borrow another school's pool) - you can get dress coded for the most unreasonable things (pants too tight, etc) - considerably less spirited overall than other schools (not that many people come to watch games) - lines for lunch a bit long I'm pretty sure there's more on each side but I can't think of any right now...but overall, I don't think I regret coming to Oxford, though sometimes I wonder what it would be like to go to a bigger school."

"The teachers are mostly out there to help you do the best you can - all you have to do is to reach out to them. Many of them stay after school or invite students who need help over during conference period, lunch, cluster, etc. They are overall intelligent and treat us as intelligent beings, as well. Overall they are approachable and nice, and there have only been a couple that I disliked."

"The teachers at Oxford Academy are very knowledgeable and exceptionally helpful to all students, regardless of their backgrounds, race, etc. Parents and students are able to interact with teachers via email with questions or concerns, and I have not had a single teacher respond inappropriately or more than a day after my emailing them. Most teachers offer extra credit for those struggling, and offer assistance with lessons during their free period or after school when students are falling behind; as well as give insight into what individual students need to excel in their courses."

"Some teachers are definitely better than others (Mrs Vosskuhler, Mr Viramontes, Mr Morris, Mrs Levoit) but overall they're very knowledgeable and will help struggling students! Teachers are available for extra help during free periods and before and after school. There are some strict and scary to approach teachers though. The best advice I have is to go with the flow and adapt to your teacher's style."
