"I am also transfering my child out of Cornerstone. I pay enough tuition for this school to act destitute and practically begging for referrals and going on about not having enough money for this and that. The playgound needs major work. They focus on alot on fund raisers yet where does the money go? My son received a mediocre education. The teacher was nice and polite. The principal seems fake and is a brownoser who talks endlessly about not having enough money for the school based on the economy. I am not interested in their financial mess but want more focus on academics and fixing up the trailer classroomes than needing to update the sanctuary. This school does NOT appear to have the right priorties to forge ahead succesfully based on their current administration. I have spoken to other parents who are too are NOT re-enrolling in this school and feel the same way as I about the current issues mentioned above."

"Really disappointed. Great Teacher! This school is not up to date. There are no computers and is antiquated. The playground is terrible. However, daycare incident where 2 children were left unattended (ages 3 and 5) for 20 minutes. And staff used the F*** word as a parent I heard this and when confronted principal, she just justified the behavior on both situations. And yes, that person still continues to participate in after school day care. My child was threaten and was told by the principal that she was not allowed to tell me what happen in the school. That is harrassment and no principal should be advocating child to keep secrets! Yes cheaper tuition but you get what you pay for."

"I have two children at this school and after reading the previous reviews felt compelled to submit my opinion. I enrolled my son into Cornerstone two years ago from Country Springs Elementary (public) where he was being left behind and unfairly labeled as "slow" to which retention seems to be the favoured method of treatment. My son did not need retaining, just good old fashioned proper teaching and support. He received both by the bucket load at Cornerstone. His confidence and end of year state test results soared! Thank you Mrs. Alvarez! On the strength of this we went ahead and enrolled our daughter the following year and are incredibly happy with the standard of education and care she has had in first grade. The proof is in the pudding!"

"This school focuses to much on partys and shows which I feel takes away from academia. Recently at a school function for grandparents they wanted to encourage everyone to keep their kids there and said if you put your kids in public school "they will learn about gay people". Unless your kids live in a bubble that will happen anyways. Apparently the school is struggling to stay open and regulary ask for donations and they try to pull on your heart strings by informing you how some of the teachers and staff don't get paid or have to hold onto the checks. The playground does seem to need some work along with the inside of some of the portables. I will say the teachers do seem to care alot about the students but they alone can only do so much. My daughter is just going to finish the school year and I will transfer for next year along with alot of other parents I have spoken with."

"I have only good to say about Cornerstone! The previous post sounds like a very disgruntled unhappy person to me. I have NEVER seen anything like she describes. There are computers in all the Elementary classrooms and Day Care is AWESOME! As with any unnamed review, you have to look between the lines and at the rest of the reviews to get a real picture. The Principal is amazing and loves the kids (and we parents!). I highly recommend this school."
