"Unimaginable environment with classrooms unlike anything you had imagined. We sit around an oval table and have the most fascinating and learning experiences with highly skilled teachers who connect with each and every student."

"The travel and service learning programs are fantastic, as is the college guidance prep. One would expect a higher percentage of amazing faculty for the tuition we pay. Fortunately I am adept at science and math and have had to fill in more than just gaps in my kid's science and math education. The teacher who uses reverse lecture for math is one of the best teachers my kid has ever had. A few of the hard science teachers were some of the worst teachers - they may have known their science, but were not able or or perhaps not willing to put in the extra effort to teach it properly. Some teachers are impressed with themselves and pride themselves on offering challenging classes more than their ability to teach. Be aware that it is much more exhausting for a student participating in the Harkness style of learning than to just be present in a traditional lecture setting for a full day of school."

"As a student at Pacific Ridge I can tell you this school has changed a lot from what it once was. It has developed into a very liberal school that is not accepting of any viewpoints except that of its own. Many students are put down for their personal beliefs and I know many that don't feel comfortable sharing their opinions because of the fear that they will be attacked not only by their peers but by their teachers and administrators as well. Most of my class would laugh and make fun of how ridiculous some of the faculty, policies, and disciplinary measures were. While Pacific Ridge does have a lot of positive aspects to it such as Global Travel and its College Guidance, its stifling of beliefs and close mindedness ultimately overpower these good aspects. How can a school pride itself in creating globally engaged, ethically responsible and purposeful students when it is a breeding ground for close mindedness and unacceptance?"

"Pacific Ridge use to be great. I use to love it and enjoyed the moments I spent there, but in the past two years, the school have severely changed. I have been attending PRS since 7th grade, and because of this, I have seen it at its best and at its worse. PRS has become too liberal, to the point in which kids who have differing view points in anyway are systematically bullied by students and teachers. This past year as well, a large number of bad teachers were hired. They make rude comments toward kids in class, and when students try and speak up about this use, we are constantly pushed to the side or told we are over reacting, despite it happening almost daily. I have heard teachers say the exact phrase "I am getting paid this year whether I care about you or not" not one, not two, but THREE times this year. Overall, it is sad to see what this once wonderful school has become."

"Pacific Ridge has a great community feel. The kids are encouraged to express themselves in a HARKNEES style of learning that really seems to prepare kids for COLLEGE and beyond. The parents are encouraged to be involved in the school, and there are so many great events to watch and participate in for KIDS and Parents alike. The admin will listen to suggestions from the community (teachers kids and parents) and will act upon them too, which seems to be a great attribute for a school."
