"My overall experience at DMD is that it is the only school where we are a project based learning school and by using media production and digital media production into our learning skills, it helps the students when it comes to projects that involve us working with a client or a non profit organization. From my freshmen year, I knew nothing about how to navigate Adobe programs and setting up cameras and being able to edit and make videos which I didn't think I would do on my own. Fast forward to now, I understand everything and know how to make videos and design stuff using Adobe Flash, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, etc. DMD is also the only school that does defenses every year based on a project that was assigned to a class year and presenting in front of teachers and clients. By doing defenses, it helps us as students and individuals be able to have communication skills and presentation skills that we could incoprate into our future careers whenever we have to present something in front of employees and important clients."

"At Kearny Digital Media and Design, the teachers of each grade have to work as a team to develop a grade project that will be focused on throughout the latter half of the school year. Since our school is small, everyone is extremely close-knit, and so the teachers know everyone individually and have meetings based on our progress and how to help us if we are struggling. It really is a one-of-a-kind experience to walk down the hallways and see every single teacher in front of their doors, greeting the students as they come in. The teachers are really understanding of everyone's personal needs, and despite not being perfect themselves, try their hardest to teach us in a way that is both accurate and fun. However, they are impartial with their grading, and still retain a very professional classroom atmosphere. Most of the students I have talked to view the teachers not just as staff but also as people they can joke and discuss heavy topics with."
