"Serrano is the typical high school that many movies portray. Students are school spirited, however unlike the movies, the cliques are actually very different. Everyone pretty much gets along with everyone, mainly because it is such a tight, small community. People are generous and helpful towards others, but that's just the norm here. There isn't much violence overall, and I find that very settling. It's a school where you just have a sense of security. Since we all pretty much grew up together, we all stick with one another until the end. I wouldn't mind coming back just because of our closeness with one another."

"To be honest, parents never really entered the equation in the schools that I know of. Most things were done by students and staff and the most you could really expect was to be dropped off or picked up by a parent. I'm sure there were a number of parents that really put effort in their child's educational career - it just wasn't made obvious to me."

"There are a variety of classes to choose from at serrano. Though most of those classes are medical based since the medical pathway is the highly picked pathway most teacher have had to do either a combo medical class. Teacher's are quite understanding when it comes to the workload yet six classes with the same amount doesn't help."

"The academics at this school are a wide variety. There's a little bit of everything for everyone. Students can enter classes that interest them such as engineering, woodshop, restaurant, medical, and even robotics. There are many AP classes offered, and many take that as an advantage to boost their gpa up. The teachers demonstrate their knowledge through their teaching, and it's obvious that they are very passionate with what they do. Workload, in my opinion, isn't bad. It's very straightforward and whatever isn't done in class is done at home and given weeks in advance."

"Again, I didn't take as many of the normal classes but I know that there was a fair amount of each so no student felt crowded in a classroom. There are quite a few notable teachers at the school and everybody has something to say about each of them. The scheduling process is decent though it sometimes makes its mistakes. I, for one, had to spend a week in a class I didn't need until they got my schedule fixed and I was moved to Spanish. But otherwise, it is a pretty simple process and I was able to get the classes I needed."
