"I was on the Tennis team for four years straight. It was the best experience I had in high school. We had a great team and great players. My team became my second family and we all got pretty close. I got to see many different sides of my friends/ teammates. They are good people and I feel very blessed to know them. I respect my coach and I honestly didn't expect to become close with him. He's also a very great coach and a great human being. He came off as an asshole 90% of the time but he's a cool guy. Besides my Tennis team, everyone in high school didn't seem as warm."

"There are good teachers and there are bad teachers. The good teachers are talkative and show interest in student success. They make learning fun. Bad teachers usually make you read out of a textbook and work on worksheets that don't really mean anything. They do not interact with students and they don't seem to like their job. There was once a AP Calculus teacher my junior year who didn't know 100% about everything he was teaching. It got to the point where a student actually started an unofficial petition to have him removed. Even the smartest students had to complain about his teaching. Most of my friends had a English where all they did was do worksheets. They felt they weren't learning anything."

"Some people know Hoover for being full of spirit. There is a group of students who really care about student involvement but the rest of the school is ignorant and careless. The majority is indifferent."

"Throughout high school, 90% of my teachers have been great but my friends and classmates have had a handful of teachers they thought to be horrible."

"The teachers at Herbert Hoover High School in Fresno, California are well experienced, knowledgeable, and caring role models. These teachers prefer to have their students learn from not only textbook but by giving real-world examples that will help the students prepare for life after high school. They give every student in their class the opportunity to speak and participant in class discussions and activities.A flaw that many of these teachers have is the changes they make in their grading process. It takes time for them to grade accordingly and may frustrate the students but in the end the grade is given rightly. When an opening occurs that connects to the lesson they are teaching, they kindly share their past experiences with the students which brings forth a better relationship with them, no longer teacher to student but person to person."
