"Most of the honors and AP teachers are amazing and among some of the best teachers. However, there were several teachers who do the bare minimum or try to become best friends with their students and then complain about the lack of respect they consequently receive. One freshmen World History teacher left the classroom every day for as long as 15 minutes and all the students could face the back wall or literally jump out the window without his notice. The AP English, AP European History, AP Chemistry, AP Macroeconomics, and AP Calculus BC teachers are beyond spectacular teachers and provide students knowledge that can be applied outside of the classroom."

"Most of the teachers at Las Lomas are really good. They really care about their students and their job. This is especially true with AP and Honors classes. For non AP it's more of a mixed bag. I almost always love my teacher if I'm in an AP, as they put in a lot of extra work to help students, but sometimes in non AP the teachers slack off and just play movies. Most teachers are reasonable with grades. I did say they were inconsistent however, because a lot of teachers will give you an A if they like you. Of course you have to be close to an A to receive that kind of treatment. The teachers will generally respect you if you respect them and do the work. Some teachers assign more work than others, but most of the time it is meaningful. Of course there are those teachers who assign coloring projects for highschool students. Most teachers are very intelligent, but as in all schools there are a couple teachers who seem clueless a good amount of the time. But I have enjoyed my experience here, especially with AP teachers."

"What I liked best about Las Lomas High School was that the majority of the teachers genuinely care about their students whether it is about their education or its their personal life. I saw this first hand after my dad had passed away from Cancer the second day of my first year in high school. Sometimes my teachers would just lend a listening ear when I was having a really bad day. And they also sat down and took the time to help me as much as possible on my homework and making sure I was understanding it under the circumstances I was going through. My favorite experiences were in my Chemistry class during my Junior year and also during my Senior year when I TA for the same teacher."

"My high school counselor was amazing and fought to get me into the classes I needed and helped me so much for college. My contact with other high school counselors has not been as great; several encourage students to take the bare minimum number of courses and advise against taking a science freshmen year. Our College and Career Center provides students with so many resources to help every student find perfect fit schools; however, on the whole, this school does not encourage a wide number of "practical" jobs in fields including the Medical field, Politics, or STEM jobs, and instead promotes arts and athletics. For students who want to pursue careers in STEM fields that require higher level physics and engineering, this school is not for you; the curriculums in math are being dumbed down and the principal has gotten rid of AP Physics and Honors Engineering."

"I don't really know too many parents at this school. Parents do participate a lot in school events. They did a wonderful job planning our junior prom last year. They oftentimes show up to football games and plays. Sometimes I think they care too much about the sport programs. Sports do get more funding than arts at LL and all my friends in the drama department are bitter about that. Parents do put pressure on their kids. This is a school where lots of parents demand success from their children. But then again I take mostly AP classes, so my opinion may be skewed on this. But overall the parents do a lot for Las Lomas and do make the school a better place."
