    "My son started at this school the year it opened and is now in sixth grade. He has had exceptional teachers in kindergarten, second grade, third grade, fifth grade and now in sixth grade. His first and fourth grade teachers are no longer at the school. Each grade has only had two classes and the classes are small, under 30 children in his current class. It has been difficult for the school this year with the exteme budget cuts affecting losses in physical ed., library access and music. These programs were wonderful at Jack London and we hope they will be back soon. I would recommend this school to any one. My son is very bright and active in school events - and his teachers have encouraged his zest for learning."

    "My sons have been at this school from the beginning and even though they are still there (this will be their last year, unless this year goes as bad as the others, then it maybe sooner). They have had no positive experiences at all. If your child needs extra help forget it. And homework is totally out of control when my second grader comes home with so much homework for the week, he spends all his time after school until bed doing it. And yes the some of the rules are out there, As for the teacher, they have had okay ones, but they have also have had some that make them feel belittled, unsure of their selves about what they can do and can't do. No teacher should tell a student they can't participate because of their sizes. I wish they were having a better experiences."

    "My child is a new student in fourth grade. She has been there almost two months and still seems to be confused about the homework assignments, although they are given calendars, I must admit that between the weekly newsletter, the calendar and all the different due dates for assingments, it does get very confusing at times. I think all assingments should be turned in the same day, and weekly packets given so as to avoid assingments being turned in late. After school activities are good, although I think after school tutoring needs to be expanded."

    "We are new to the area and have two of our children in this school. One is in the 1st grade and other is in the 5th grade. We are simply NOT happy with the experiences either one of our kids have received here. For the most part our 5th graders teacher is a qualified teacher. Our 1st grader does need a little more help academically and is NOT receiving this in his class. We have also had numerous miscommunications issues with his teacher as well. The principal is very nice and willing to work with you. However, change or parent involvment does not seem to be liked very much. Also the silly rules of NO running on the playground and making your child eat outside in freezing weather is ludacris. We are taking our children out!"

    "I love the teachers at this school but also agree that parents wanting to help is not always a welcoming experience. I think a lot of the rules at this school are silly. It's safety I know but that's what being a kid is about. Academically, if your child is struggling don't expect extra effort from the some of the teachers."
