"The academic opportunities at Punahou are huge and the teachers always have fun ways to enrich the students' minds and teach them fascinating new materials. However, I find the students at Punahou to be very mean-spirited. After developing a deep depression, all of my friends abandoned me and refused to spend time with or talk to me. Attempts to make new friends failed miserably. The students at Punahou are the most uncaring and self-interested individuals I have ever come across. In addition to this, many of the students are very wealthy and are habitual drug users (marijuana, cocaine, shrooms, lsd). They also form tight-knit groups and don't easily let new friends join. Most friend groups at this school are highly elitist and ostracize nice people who just want to be friends. After 7 years of taking this constant social hatred, I tried to kill myself, but failed and was sent to a hospital. I don't care if I win, I just want this information about these awful people to get out there."

"It's an amazing school. A bit expensive but the academics and sports programs put this school up in the premier high schools."

"Punahou is the perfect place for anyone to thrive. They have diversity in difficulties in courses which is perfect since each student learns at different paces. There is also great opportunities for students. Each student will find a new passion that they have something and Punahou can help you develop and explore this passion. I've found that I love international travel and Punahou is the one to credit for it. I went on a trip to Cuba with the school and I've be given a grant by the school to go to Costa Rica. They excel in every department and anything a student is needed to grow is given. The teachers are kind, patient, and are always willing to meet with students outside of class. Although the teachers are great most of the time, some teachers are just stronger than others. Sometimes teachers will rely to heavily on books, videos, or homework to do the teaching. Overall, I look forward to coming to school everyday because of the great atmosphere of the school."

"I feel that BCP math does not focus on students struggling with math enough. We have class 4 times and a test once every cycle. One class is usually divided into 30 minutes of new material and 30 minutes of homework time. This means that out of the 4 hours of class time before the test, we get about 2 hours worth of actually learning the material. I think this is unfair to students who have a hard time in math to have to master new material in such a short time before a test. If we had a test every 2 cycles, we would have a better understanding of the material and really have time to perfect it before the test. Those who struggle in math like me tend to get C's or lower on tests while the students who honestly shouldn't be in the class are on the B to A range. This class is more focused on those kids getting A's than helping kids with D's raise their understanding. A lot of this is completely new material, but we just zoom through it and take a test we know we're going to fail."

"I personally loved everything about Punahou! It prepared and gave me all the necessary tools needed to be successful in college and beyond through the many opportunities offered each year. The famous annual Punahou Carnival allowed me to grow and develop my leadership skills in a safe and fun atmosphere while the Senior Variety show let me connect and bond with my class for the last time before graduation through dancing and singing. Punahou inspired me to strive for excellence in whatever I do, but also to pay my education forward by giving back to the community whenever I can. Punahou allows each student to grow and develop as an individual and will do whatever possible to assist each student to reach their maximum potential as both a student and person! As for Punahou's future, I see the school not only continuing to make positive learning atmospheres, but also further advancing its connections within the community."
