"This school was definitely different than a public high school. Since many of the students come from home schooling, they are sometimes socially awkward and its just a weird environment sometimes. It did prepare me for Running Start though so I am thankful for that!"

"Homeconnection is a parent partnership program. It mixes home-schooling with public schooling. You can take as many classes at home or in the classroom as best fits your needs. I've been going to Homeconnection since 1st grade, and I feel extremely lucky to have had that opportunity. I took fun classes such as knitting and guitar in grade school there while being taught subjects like math and history at home from my mom. I started taking core classes in 6th grade, gradually switching over to become a full time student there by the end of 10th grade. I was able to take it at my own pace. I was able to take a higher level math than my peers, because I could learn it at home rather than being restrained by the public school system's grade limits. That has opened up countless opportunities for me. The core classes there are very rigorous and heavy on homework. Late work is not accepted, and homework is usually weighted much more heavily than exams. Homeconnection does have drawbacks though. It does not provide as rich of a social experience as the public schools. Because of its small size, it is very limited in extra-curricular activities such as after school clubs, sports, or dances. While participating in such activities through the local high school is possible, it is often difficult. Homeconnection has been a great fit for me because I am more academically oriented and less socially oriented. I have been able to excel in my schooling. However, my social experiences have been limited."

"Most of the teachers that I've had at Homeconnection are great. They are really nice, dedicated to the students, and put in way more time that they're paid for. They are not just teachers, but often friends that I can come to with questions about anything. They hold standards for students, and challenge them to reach their full potential."
