"My older son went to NAI and I feel that he had a great experience. He is gifted but also challenged with severe ADD. At the recommendation of his psychologist we requested a 504 service agreement (for kids with disabilities, including learning disabilities). Our agreement required teachers to do a lot more work to make sure I was aware of any issues he had with completing assignments. On the whole, they were cooperative and helpful, and did their best to make sure I knew what assignments he had due and what he had missed. He loved many of his teachers and really enjoyed both years. FWIW, the comments about an emphasis on sports are very old - my son was not involved in sports and he had no complaints."

"I am very happy to be in this district.I have 2 children in the NA school system and 1 who recently graduated. Thanks to NA and their excellence my oldest did receive an academic scholership at the private college of choice. If your child is overlooked, as a parent it is my job to make sure this does not happen. I try to stay involved and I am not afraid to question the teachers or principles of the schools. I have always found the response positive when I do pose questions. It is a very trying time for teachers and parents alike. We all need to work together to make the experience a positive one for our children. None of my children are in sports, we are not affluent and all are average to above average students. They have never felt like they do not belong or are not welcome."

"I have been very disappointed with the NA school system. If your child does not 'blend in', a term used by the principal at NAI, or is a 'character', a term used by the athletic director, he or she will have a very difficult time. Individuality is not valued, nor encouraged."

"My daughter has had a great experience at NAI. Although it is big--three middle schools feed into it--there is something for everyone at NAI. The teachers have been first-rate; there are plenty of clubs and extracurricular activities; contrary to what someone said earlier, sports are an important part of the school experience, but no more so than academics and other activities, such as music and art programs. All of my children are involved in the chorus programs at their respective schools within the district, and we have found them to be excellent! When some schools are cutting their music and arts program, NASD continues to support theirs! There are lots of honors courses for students to take; the class sizes aren't bad at all for a school this size; the building and grounds are well-kept; there's a great library. We are very happy with this school and the entire district!"
