"My son attended Avalon for half of the year. He told me how kids in his class were kicked out of other schools. He is an A-B student but at Avalon he was failing. The teachers did not inform me of this and he never brought home graded material. I found this at at mid-term. In four months he had two different teachers. I attended class one day and was upset with how the children treated the teacher. I could not believe that the teacher would put up with the kids that were acting up. I took my son out of the school and he went from failing to A's and B's. Three other kids started at his new school that were also going to Avalon. I am sure that they are trying to make the school great but from what I could see a lot of the children were problem children and they were not allowing the other kids the opportunity to learn!"

"THE 2011-2012 SCHOOL YEAR: As I begin my first year as Avalon new Executive Director, I will continue to work diligently with parents and faculty to foster an atmosphere that promotes a learning community characterized by child centered instruction and decisions, academic excellence, trust, respect, community involvement, excellent communications, and recognition of both student and staff achievement. I am committed to working in collaboration with you to continue to develop and implement this shared vision. Working together as a team we will move forward in our mission this new school year to create a nurturing, disciplined, and challenging environment in which all students can learn at optimum levels and become responsible members of society. We have so much to be proud of as a staff, family, and community."

"I have taught at Avalon for several years and I love this school. This school has zero tolerance for bullying and students are held accountable for their own behavior/decisions. The entire staff is a true TEAM working on making sure things happen for the greatness of the school. The kids are fantastic and learning is interesting and challenging. In 1-2 years this school will be even greater through growth and continued positive direction. I'm proud to be a part of it."

"Avalon works hard to keep students engaged and does wonders with very little resources."
