"Taking AP and honor classes, the teachers worked closer with me because they have less students and assignments to grade. The curriculum varied in difficultly depending on the subject. For example in ninth grade, I took honors biology and it required a lot of studying but the material was never too hard to grasp. However in AP world history the curriculum was extremely difficult. I did not comprehend the material well at all, it was a lot of remembering and connections to be made. The workload was never not manageable, if you practiced good time management than it was able to get done. When the school switched to 6 classes a day to 4 and placing us on block schedule was important because that is how college works. Honors or not teachers always offered tutorials after class on specific days and worked to help students comprehend the material but for the test I think not so much to overall learn."

"I loved attending Langston Hughes! In my opinion it was not a bad school. I was involved in cheer-leading and football is such a popular sport at this school! Homecoming and playing our biggest rivals like Creekside and Westlake is not only big for Langston but the community as a whole. In 11th grade i became the SGA President of the school and loved planning the homecoming events and activities to get the whole school in the spirit! The school is unique is because even though it is majority African American, the students are very different. Not all of the students dress alike, have different personalities and are highly creative with the arts. I would go back because being involved allowed me to make some of the greatest friends I have to this day. I also learned a lot from my advisers that I will take into the real world."
