"West Aurora is a dynamic school with excellent educational and extra-curricular opportunities for its students. Teachers and administrators are focused on student learning and continue to look for continuous growth and improvement. Parents play a vital role through sports and band boosters and attendance to school-sponsored activities. There are high quality fine arts programs as well as occupational experiences for students to choose from. West High is a vibrant learning environment with a beautifully diverse population!"

"This is an example of many of the ill effects of diversity. The school has declined greatly since the 70s and 80s as thousands of children of illegal aliens have started attending bringing the level of drugs and gang violence to an all time high along with a culture that does not value academic achievement. Neighboring communities have started to buy up cheap properties and convert them to shelters for third world refugees forcing this school district to absorb the cost of catering to children from 3rd and 4th world countries (World Relief). Almost all resources are dedicated to bringing those below average up to the average and the students who are above average get little to no resources. Many of the best and brightest end up going to private schools or are homeschooled, because the alternative is to watch a bright and brilliant mind languish in this non-academic (zoo keeping) environment. My wife and I both attended Freeman, Washington and West in the 80s and ended up feeling forced to home school our children because the schools had slipped so badly. There is no hope of these schools getting better because they are under demographic assault."

"This high school is the worst facility I have ever come across. There is zero accountability on the staff's part and Mr. Bridges runs the school more like a prison than an educational facility. Teachers are more motivated in using class time to indulge in their own graduate studies than spend time helping the students. One of the driver's ed teachers tried to flirt with me and became irate when I protested. The school is a complete dump and a huge waste of taxpaying dollars. Shame on any school that pays a driver's ed teacher $100,000 + salary!!! I've been told repeatedly that the school attracts the bottom of the barrel educators ... and since my son's chemistry teacher did nothing more than sit in class and eat McDonald's ... I'd have to agree. DO NOT MOVE TO THIS SCHOOL DISTRICT!!!"

"I think this school does a very fine job of educating a very diverse student body and with far less cost per student than the average public school in Illilnois."

"I never felt safe at the school. The hall ways were way to crowded and teachers never paid attention enough in what was going on in the hall ways. No one cared about any thing but them selves. I didn't like it and im glad I was able to get out."
