"This school is a joke! The High School has Homeroom as a credited class! Ridiculous! It's the only reason my son passed. We wanted him failed because we have tried everything to get him to take school seriously and he just won't. Why should he when he can keep failing and then pass by the skin of his teeth at the end of the year. We had a meeting with the vice principal and were told that they get lots of kids transfered in from other districts because it was easier at this school! That's not what schools should be! It should be challenging and about the kids' needs, if they cared more about the kids education and less about the money they'd be more successful. If you're thinking about this school, do yourself a favor and cyber school instead. We're doing it now and what a difference. Great courses, teacher involvement, greater expectations."

"I had a child that graduated in 2008 and another that will in 2015.I have been very pleased quality education they have received thus far.The teachers have been responsive to concerns. When my eldest child was injured and required transport to an area ER for eval the then Vice Principal, Dr Defilice, went with him in the ambulance so he wouldn't be alone. The choir director is fantastic, encouraging each child to their highest level of achievement. I am not originally from here so I can say honestly I have never felt an outsider because of that. My children love Bangor school district and so do I!!!"

"BASD High School is a wonderful community of professional teachers, enthusiastic students who make it a terrific community to learn & grow in. The Music Programs from choir to ALL of the bands encourages students to reach their highest potential. The same can be said of their many sports teams. We are NOT from Bangor, nor do we have much money. Our kids hate to miss a day of school!!"

"Something is wrong with parents & students who claim that it is horrible if you are not "from Bangor." That is baloney. We are from NJ and our kids feel welcome in the schools & the community as well. Do to the awesome staff of teachers, musical directors & coaches of all the sports teams our son & daughter are both thriving academically & in their other pursuits. Sounds like sour grapes to me!"
