"I liked how the rigorous schedule made me much more organized, I have mastered a lot as a musician and artist through this school, I learned how to write and read music, sight sing, play back complex rhythms, make chord progressions, I even got better at dancing and acting through the different shows I participated in throughout my four years. I learned to balance both my academics and my music major, which I believe has helped prepare me for college."

"during the upcoming holidays like Christmas or the last day of school, the school would celebrate musically and I enjoyed it very much."

"LaGuardia is a great school, don't get me wrong, but there are a few things here that in my opinion, aren't beneficial for me or the school itself. Some counselors suck. Some teachers suck. The principal sucks. I'll give some examples, what if your counselor tells you this: "Don't drop this AP, it'll look bad for you in the future" when you're already taking 5 more AP's, or " there's no chance you'll get into this college" when your GPA is a 94, etc.. the list goes on. When the teachers don't teach the curriculum necessary for the regents on time. Or when the principal wants to take the art out of an art high school. At least the students have a space to express themselves, to hang out with friends. Do their passion. That's what this is school is supposed to be. Not a place where brains is placed over talent. This school is intended for students who clearly have potential and talent, but now it's twisted, we wait until Lag turns into academic based instead of arts based."

"It's been a great 3 years. I loved almost every moment. However it is a very competitive school. The academics are not as good as they could be and the funding for the school need to be increased. My overall experience in the drama department of the school is that the teachers are amazing and support everything that you try to do."

"Honestly, I personally think that applying and going to this school had a big impact on me and although some days were harder than others, I never once regretted coming to this school. I really appreciated how recently our school installed gender neutral bathrooms and students definitely respect it and don't tease others for using it. There is barely, if any, incidences of bullying in this school because everyone is accepting and more open to all these differences. The diversity of the students allow others to be more aware and accepting and to quickly adapt. For myself, I ve been involved in a show twice every year up until this year as an instrumental major. This year I was a part of the annual musical and opera pit orchestra which was a total of about 14 shows and then also as a part of the school s Symphony Orchestra, there are 6 shows. It is a lot of work but I was able to find a balance and be able to complete my other duties as well simultaneously."
