"Superb teachers; misguided curriculum. My 6th grader attended a private school previously, and wanted to give LMS a try. We agreed. The teachers at this school are of the highest calibre; however, the school day is a jam-packed, non-stop marathon from 8:08 until 2:55, with only a half-hour lunch, NO breaks of ANY kind (no recess, no study hall), and only three-minute passing periods. My child comes home exhausted, but NOT from intellectually challenging academics. At his previous private school, the standards were MUCH higher, homework load was greater, but the daily schedule was built in a much smarter way: it included a half-hour snack/recess break mid-morning, and another recess after lunch. P.E. was always scheduled in the afternoon. The fact that the human brain requires intermittent breaks like these in order to optimize learning has been borne out consistently by YEARS of research--I am incredulous that LMS does not acknowledge this. In an effort to provide a rich curriculum, what they have created is a pressure cooker in which mental energies are depleted and academics are diluted. LMS teachers, students (and taxpayers) deserve better than this--MUCH better!"

"I am a Student here and I have to Say the Principal is Very nice,All the Teachers are superb except for a certain teacher i won't name. Let's just say she is very strict and irritable.Anyways,They have A Great No bullying System and Great After School clubs.Though Here is a Warning for 5th graders:Health class is Awkward,To say the least ^_^ . They have a Math Support Class With a very Excellent And Nice teacher and they have Great lunches. The 6th graders go on a Trip to the Museum of Natural History. Every once in a while they have something like a School dance for 5th and 6th graders; It's called Fun Friday. Cons: The pressure at this school is Quite Outrageous. Even Smart Children Get sent to Math support. Lots of Snobs. Since this is a VERY rich area, lots of children there will tease. And i mean,They are vicious."

"My children have been coming through the LMS for 2 years and there are more to follow. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this school. The staff is amazing and the principal is unbelievable with the children. I wish that the whole school would move with my children. The teachers are excellent and I have seen tremendous growth with my children."

"My daughter had alot of fun here and worked very hard as well. The teachers were great, stayed in touch often and are more then helpful. There is alot of homework which was most of the time overwhelming to my 6th grader. She would break down in tears over it. I do sincerely like the school system but I am worried that the pressure will get worse as they move up,(as I read in the other reviews) but where is the better alternative??... I don't think there is one. Nothing is perfect."

"My son has been in the Montgomery schools since kindergarten and he is now in 10th grade. My son is a B+ student. The teachers stay after schools twice to three times a week to provide the students with the extra help so that you don't need hire a tutor. They provide several two teacher classrooms for each grade so they can offer extra attention during class time to those who need it. We have young enthusiastic teachers with today s knowledge of the changing world. The teachers love and really care about their students. The PTA are dedicated members that support the schools with activities, fund raisers & so much more. Parent s here are very involved in the schools. There no Miracle s in education, at the end of the day it's really up to your child s ability how well they perform. We as parents provide them with the best tools"
