"As a teacher in another district, as well as a parent of a Charleroi student, I'm pleased with her learning environment. Her teacher is open to communication. Living with both sides of education gives me different perspective. Any school in an area, like Charleroi, where there is a mix of economic backgrounds is going to have challenges. It is hard to make advancements when there is not readily available funding to do so. However, I was happily surprised during a visit to her classroom, they have more technology available (and they use it!) for their learning process in Kindergarten than I do teaching 8th grade in a different part of the county. Everyone from school board to building staff is working to use every opportunity and every resource they can find to provide the best experiences for our kids. It's also my job as a parent to support and enhance that."

"Nearly all of our children's teachers have been responsive to our questions, attentive to each student's needs and were willing to work with us to get through subjects that our children found to be difficult. In sum, the Charleroi Elementary Center teachers have exceeded our expectations. The choir and band programs are exceptional, with dedicated instructors. The library contains more books than many public libraries, and the accelerated reader program kept each child focused on reading throughout the school year. We have observed that there is room for improving the level of parental involvement in PTA, classrooms and Junior Achievement. As we consider rating our school, what grade should we give ourselves?"

"We have 3 of 4 children currently attending charleroi elem. We do have a child with autism and requires a IEP and truly with the exception of the learning support teacher(who is phenomenal), we've had a lot of issues that were likely due to the lack of competency of the administration. If your child needs extra help, you'll get it only with a fight. Do your homework parents! Think advocate."

"We're actually moving solely based on the poor performance of Charleroi Schools. The teachers who we have delt with are not interested in providing a quality education. They have NO tutoring programs. We are currently researching the local private schools to finish out the year and then planning on moving to a better school district even if the house has not sold. I gave teachers/administration the benefit of the doubt and ended up regretting it."

"Our 3rd grade teacher was organized, positive and tuned in to our child's educational needs. Our child learned a lot. We have high expectations for the Charleroi Schools and look forward to supporting our new Elementary Principal."
