"At San Marin, the social scene is not the best, but I have had some great experiences. I have had only a few teachers who have been extremely influential, but that's enough for me to succeed in college. This school is diverse, although there are a few exceptions. Overall, it was okay, but I am lucky to have taken advantage of opportunities given to me by teachers; such as my art teacher giving me a scholarship for the Academy of Art, which I won. I would recommend this school to students pursuing sciences and math as well, because of the STEM program. Although, the arts department needs attention, funding, and improvement."

"A lot of teachers don't teach well and expect students to know the material already."

"The math department is in desperate need of better teachers. The elective and English teachers I had were the best, they not only genuinely cared about the subject they taught, but wanted the students to succeed and understand the material. The math and science teachers I had didn't do that as much; they went through the material too fast and only paid attention to the students who learned it quickly. However, the influential teachers I did have outshine the horrible ones, which overall makes my experience with teachers at San Marin okay."

"I would definitely choose to attend San Marin High School again if I had to have a "high school do-over". The campus is located at the end of town across from a horse pasture, creating a very "home town" setting. A lot of the teachers live in town and not only want to educate the students in their curriculum, but to help them to become better citizens in the community. I was involved in a Early Childhood Education class in my junior and Senior year. I was this program that gave me the opportunity to volunteer at the local elementary school with the first graders. I loved watching their faces when they succeeded in either their math, reading or interactions with other children. I would definitely recommend San Marin High to everyone."

"As a whole, the teachers are awesome. The ones I've had seem to truly care about the well-being and education of their students. Of course, I don't know all of them and I have had one or two that I didn't feel helped my needs as a student, but still in general were good at their jobs."
