"I am very happy with the school and the way it is being run. I was worried about sending my daughter here but she is now in 1st grade and is doing very well. I have been happy with the teachers she has had so far. My only complaint is the lack of communication from the specialty teachers. But each time I had addressed that with the teacher, but don't feel I should have to have been the one to reach out. But it's my daughter and I will do what is needed to help her grow in anyway that she needs. My biggest concern with the school is the lunch menu. I really hope they will do something about that soon. It's not the healthiest I've seen. I also am glad they have the before school breakfast program. It so helps us parents who work. It's sad that they had to cut down on the arts/phys ed classes in order to concentrate more on the academic and tested type classes. I think the education community should think about making the school day a little longer and allowing the kids the arts/culture classes that they enjoy. Just glad the school is doin well and it's rating has increased. Overall I am happy with the school."

"I am a parent who does not know good English and with the help of google will show my anger to the director of this school. My son has made school here, but never am not satisfied. before my son came to this school was high and exemplary results we bring. as the new director came this change because it's always managed to condemn as not to like school. condemn only this and the next child if left free this .. it only quarrel with it much more condemning is not like school. but we did not know where to talk about because they did not know English. has a year that is gone and I am satisfied with the school that has now been very polite and higher grades .. thanks god that was left out there ...I don` t like ...rey mother"

"Demarest is great school! My oldest son has been there for 4 years now and loves it there. He has had wonderful, caring teachers. They have been easy to talk to and offer suggestions on how to improve his performance in school. He has received extra help (e.g., speech therapy and tutorial for the NJ ASK) and has done well. My daughter is in kindergarten now and just loves going to school. We are lucky to have the full day program --- a big help for working parents! Mrs. Todaro, the principal, is great. She is always out there to make sure the kids are safe. Under her leadership, I think Demarest school will get even better."

"This is an exceptional school. The teachers are excellent, the principal seems to be a caring person and very concerned about the overall expectation of each child. You can contact her at any time and she is always there to listen to your concerns. I lived in New York City all my life and lived in many other states and my children love this school like no other. Bullying is not tolerated in this school and the children are so well behaved and polite."

"I can't believe that Demarest only has a rank of 4 out of 10. Both of my children go here and I couldn't be happier with the school, faculty, and the programs/activities. I suppose the rank is based mostly on standardized test scores, but there's more to learning than just one big test every year! The half-day kindergarten program is a little weak, but all the grades after that are top-notch. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this school."
