    "My daughter is in her senior year at Boerne Samuel V. Champion High School. Champion is a Blue Ribbon School with 96% attendance and very high academic scores. It is a fairly "wealthy" school, but this is to its advantage as the students seem to have all that they need whether it be for their studies, athletics, fine arts, etc. As a 4 year Band Booster parent, I can speak of the Charger Band students as I have spent many hours with them serving as a chaperone on all their trips and these kids are some of the best behaved, well mannered, respectful kids I have ever encountered. This has to mean somebody's doing something right!"

    "I attended Boerne High School between 2002 and 2006 and all I can say it what a special place Boerne is to be. The academics are top notch and the athletics are superb as well. To briefly counter the criticisms below: 1. Economics-The main difference between Boerne and schools such as Alamo Heights and Highland Park is that the latter two at centralized urban districts with a largely homogeneous populations and income based on the fact that there is no room for much expansion. Boerne on the other hand has exploded over the past few years in population, and contains a wide social makeup both racially and economically. 2. Preparedness-Some say that Boerne did not prep them for real life. Well it seems that is a personal problem rather than a educational problem. My peers and I all worked hard and got into top universities: Cornell, Baylor, Texas A&M, Trinity, UT Austin, Rice. We all got degrees and all now have found solid employment, even in the current economic downturn. 3. Athletics- Many of my fellow students took part in athletics, but they also mostly did many other activities as well. Most students take part in many different activities BHS has to offer."

    "Boerne High School was at one time apparently a great school. However, when Sam Champion left, the school lost much. Even the best students are frustrated and cannot wait to leave! It's academics are not on par with other schools having similar economic and parental support. Check out the state statistics if you have a question. Compare with Alamo Heights or Highlands in Dallas."

    "Boerne is a really supercilious district. The school tries to supress anything that the parents or students have to say. They basically treat the students as if they are prisoners being held captive."

    "Boerne High School offers all the right classes and has all the right teachers. The sports are available to all types of athletes. I have had two sons graduate from BHS. Both received the grades and rankings that they deserved. It is the child's job to learn the material, not the teacher's job to spoon-feed the curriculum."
