"Coming from a California Distinguished high school really sets my standard up there. I went to Pitman High School in California and I loved the excellency of that district. It really gave me an academic challenge that I've grown from. So switching to this Florida high school for senior year has given me a lot of insight. The cafeteria lunches are disgustingly generic, nothing an average person would buy at home, but I guess the money for Estero has gone into the high tech Touch Boards in the classrooms. I have several teachers while they are good people, don't really challenge me to do better. They're quite easy core classes, and its not really an effort to keep a high grade. I'd say that Estero still has a long ways before they could reach the title of a great school. And I wouldn't say there is a huge drug problem, its only those few low-life students who think making the buck is by selling. I mean, you're always going to hear a rumor or two about weed and bars being on the market at school but in reality its mostly a static group of kids who have nothing better to do."

"I am concerned about balanced nutritious lunches for students at Estero High that provides healthy choices .....my student has informed me of small portions in comparison to cost and was told it was budget cuts ; is my child getting enough nutritious calories to carry her fromluch time until dismissal for the day?"

"I've been at Estero all four years of high school, and loved every minute of it. Most teachers are extremely supportive. Rumors have spread around the district that we had drug problems, when in reality every high school in the country has drug problems. Our school is 22 years old, and yes there are kids who abuse such things, but in no way is there a problem. I've been involved in most clubs and enjoy every minute of it. The school spirit is outstanding, and it has truly made my high school experience the best. Things are changing in the school, and it is only getting better. I would encourage any parent to send their child to Estero, especially over South Fort Myers. If you think we have a drug problem? You should see that school."

"I went to Estero for 3 years. and then i had to move up north. But Estero High School is one of the best schools i have ever gone to. They have a really excellent medical academy. and a lot of other fields you can go in if thats what you want to do for college. i went from having a&b's to d&f at my new school up north. Estero high school is one of the best schools in southwest florida."

"I went to Estero and loved every minute of it. There were many activities and groups to get involved in and there were challenging classes if you looked for them. I took 4 AP classes, the rest honors and had amazing teachers and ended up with a GPA of 5.02 (weighted)."
