"The teachers at Boston Latin Academy are great teachers that really care about how their students are doing in their class. I do not know if this is the same for all of the school's teachers, because so many new teachers have joined the school the past few years. But, the teachers that I had and have right now provide engaging and interactive curriculums that really test the skills and knowledge of students. Teachers at Boston Latin Academy are also very knowledgable in the subjects they teach. My AP Comparative Government and International Relations teacher, Mr. Isen, is a great example of a knowledgable teacher at Boston Latin Academy. He is very informed on current events in the world and events that happened in history. Also, he is always alluding to other governments as examples during a topic discussion. I believe all teachers at Boston Latin Academy are accessible to communicate with. I have a strong bond with my Chinese teacher. Each teacher has their own style of grading assignments, but they are always consistent with out they grade. They provide their grading style on the class syllabuses that are handed out to students during the first days of school. I also believe that teachers at Boston Latin Academy are very interested in their students. My AP Biology teacher, Ms. Via, is a great example of a teacher at the school. She is very adamant about how students are taking in the information from textbooks, as well as from in class discussions."

"The teachers at BLA are dedicated to their students success. Although their classrooms look different throughout the school each and every teacher is available and goes beyond their title as a teacher. Every year I have been able to say that there are at least 2 teachers that I can go to for advising and that I have a strong relationship with. Without the staff's dedication and support, I wouldn't have achieved the amount of success I have today."

"The thing about BLA's environment is that it is different and improving for the better every year. I've had the opportunity to be engaged in something new every year and that has added to my experience at BLA."

"The teachers here at the school vary when it comes to their overall experience. This makes it harder at times for students to really understand the material in the time we are given. Some teachers do not put in too much effort when it comes to teaching the students the material and making it fun to understand. Others do this really well and make some classes very enjoyable and has been the reason, I think for most of it's success. The scheduling process can be a little rough as far as picking courses. The time you need to pick classes is not long enough in my opinion, which contributes to the fact that most kids are deciding to drop out of classes the first week they join it. The workload varies depending on the teacher. I have been lucky with my teachers the past two years with their homework and course load. They were able to understand the fact that students do have other classes with teachers who are trying to push their own agendas. The study options are okay, not great. The library allows kids to connect with friends to do their homework, but can be a terrible place to actually do work, due to the structure of the library itself. I think more computers would help this. There are no really popular classes. Students just go on with their days and do not have time to really honor the greatness of one class."
