"My family loves Erie Elementary. They are no longer oversized and have a strong community feeling in the building. The teachers are excellent and many of the negative teachers are no longer there. They have started a STEM focus and really are helping all kids. The new principal is great. Reading other reviews on here, I really think the August review is not accurate. Obviously they had issues. Erie is a great school with a great staff. They love our kids and push the students to love learning. The staff has always been responsive to our needs, questions, emails and phone calls. That includes the principal! Don't put any weight in a negative comment. Check out this great school for yourself"

"I removed my child from this school as soon as a better option became available in Erie. The new principal is unresponsive to emails and phone calls about concerns. She is unprofessional, presenting at back to school night completely unprepared, posting inappropriate content on facebook and twitter including sensitive infomation on a public site and student photos when parents have not given permission, which just paints herself and the school in a negative light. She seems more interested in padding her resume than what is best for the school. The teachers are burned out and do not set the kind of example I want to set for my child. I do not want my son's teacher's child telling him it's okay to drop out of school because jobs are available (in fast food). The fact that the class sizes for my child's grade this year are at 32 students and counting just reinforces the fact that I made the right decision moving my child. Please look at all other available options before sending your child to this school. With the new elementary and charter school, there are MUCH better options in Erie."

"Erie has great teachers & staff, who really care about the kids & helping them succeed. Erie just got a new principal- I really don't know much about her yet, but she sends good at communication, and always says her 'door is open' if we should ever feel the need to talk to her. The environment there is friendy- people often smile & say hello as you walk through the school. They're very welcoming to parents- we can drop in anytime, whether to have lunch w/ the kids or help out in a classroom, etc. As a note of interest, there will be 2 new elementary schools opening in Erie for the 2011-2012 school year: 1 a regular elementary (elementary # 26), & 1 a charter school called Aspen Ridge Preparatory school. Both will be new construction."
