"This year my children (who are different in every way) have 3 teachers for their acadamic classes. The teachers communicate well with each other and me. If I discuss one child with one teacher the other two are on board. They are professional and courtious. The principal is not to be blamed for the loss of the science lab, it's class size. The additional classroom is needed to maintain class size. As for the cafeteria you need structure this way it would minimize accidents. I've been to the cafeteria, kids are not yelled at. It's so noisy in there you can't hear yourself talk. Yes, I do believe there is room for improvement but with a limited budget and resources it makes it difficult. This is my children's fourth year and they love it. There was never one day where they said I don't want to go to school. That says alot."

"Teachers are very nice but all they do is work out of workbooks and worksheets. Not much thinking out the box at this elementary school. Children are not allowed to read outside of their Lexile score even if they want to challenge themselves. A Steven Jobs, Albert Einstein, or Bill Gates would have failed out or been kicked out of a Sunset Palms!"

"Teachers are pretty good, but school is very focused on the FCAT. Teach to the test and groom children for the test starting in kindergarten. The school has a very sterile, unfriendly feeling -- like a mental institution or something. Too clean and quiet -- it seems a bit eery when you walk the halls. Parents can't sit with the children when they visit for lunch, and the children are yelled at to be quiet at lunch, the one time they are free to let loose. PE is a joke; my child has not learned any sports. They are given equipment and just told to run around and play. There is no true computer lab/instruction at this school anymore, and science lab got cut. Not what I was expecting for my child's elementary school experience."

"The school is great but not pleased with the developer of the Canyon Communities. Many of the electrical and appliances do not work after just several years. Hire a private contractor for most of your work. It's not worth paying those nflated prices for many of these options. Plus, your annual residential taxes will be higher since its bases on the selling price of your home. A private contractor will stay behind their work faster than anyone else. My appliances had to be replaced already."

"It is a new school with all the bells and whistles; most teachers are great. Issues are with principal and asst. principal, and choices they make. Cutting science lab in favor of PE, no true computer lab instruction taking place. Atmosphere in cafeteria is like military school. Tables face forward only, preventing socializing. Children told to be quiet. Too much focus on teaching to the test at this school. Sadly, this is also caused by the district and state system. School wants its A rating at all costs."
