"I'm a junior at BHS, and this is my second year here. I formally went to a private school in Chicago which is well known to be terrific, only to find that BHS offers a much better program; in fact, it's one of the best that I (or my parents, who are both teachers) have seen. All of my teachers are extremely helpful, and love students who are interested. Students are rarely neglected; teachers make it their priority to assist their students in every way. The academics are terrific; I would highly suggest it to anyone!"

"I think the Brewster Central School district is Great! The teachers show great concern for the children and are very careful not to label a child when resource is needed. They ensure parents are notified of any academic as well as behavioral problems and they work closely with school officials and parents to make sure each child work to their full potential with great encouragement. My son will be graduating from Brewster HS in 2008 and I hope to stay in this school district to watch my (8 year old)daughter graduate as well."

"I highly rate this school. I am surprised that anyone would say this school is a military camp - that might have been a teenagers comments! As a parent, I consider my daughter lucky that she has such a good school in her community - no need to send her to a private school. Many of the BHS graduates go on to be accepted at many of the top colleges and universities. As far as drug searches - this is becoming standard in most schools - I'm glad that they are one step ahead in this area - I'm surprised if a parent wouldn't be."

"My daughter attends the High School, and I feel as she does. This is a wonderful school! Are there drug searches? Yes. Are there dogs brought in to search lockers? Yes. What does that tell me? It says that the administration are not hiding their heads in the sand about what goes on in high schools these days. If you think that drugs and violence don't happen in other schools, than you are mistaken. How can you change this? Talk to your kids about it, tell them how you feel about drug use. I have always felt that the more you talk about it the less likely it is to happen. They have excellent sports programs, and a terrific music program, it was just rated one of the top 100 in the country. My daughter has a wide selection of AP courses at her disposal. We love Brewster High School."
