"Teacher turn over is a big issue at Hudson Elementary. Plus like the person said in the parent review the use of "off the shelf" teaching programs is way out of hand. WIth the low quality of teaching and very poor CSAP scores, we will be moving our kids to a different school."

"having been involved with Hudson Elementary school for the past 15 years with my 3 kids i can honestly say the school has gone down hill. The quality of teaching just inst there anymore, they rely way to much on off the shelf prepared lesson plans and don't deviate from them at all. gee what happened to being a teacher? We got a letter in the mail from the Principal for the 2010/2011 school year last week saying that Hudson has scored below average for the second year in a row compared to other schools like Hoff and Lochbouie. So my below average rating is backed up with documented student performance shown in CSAP scores. Which means we as parents have the option to move our kid to one of the better performing schools. We seriously considering transferring to a better school."

"I think, as opposed to some other reviewers, that the overall quality of teachers and principal are high. They are constantly striving to be better, and they have a lot of trainings to learn new and better ways of teaching. Most of the teachers really care about the kids, and the principal is very committed to improvement. I think what is lacking is art and the building is old and needs to be improved. Overall I'm very pleased with the education my child has received there."

"RE3J is not a good school district to have your kids in K-12. There's not enough space or time to write everything that's wrong due to its to much to list. Unfortunately all the good teachers have left, And the turnover rate is high every year for teachers. If by some chance we are lucky enough to get a good teacher, they only last a year or two at best, then they move on to a better school district. Kids are left behind in this school. The rating of 4 is to high"

"I am happy with the school so far, I think the quality of teaching is good. The availability of art ,music, and other things is okay. I thought the academic difference between kindergarten and first grade was kind of extreme. I also think the level of disipline was slack for kindergarten and heavy now in first grade. I wish there was a bit more in K and a little less in 1st."
