"It amazes me that someone would write there is no support at this school. the grandparent that posted the administration did not know what they were doing is incorrect and probably has horribly behaved kids.four years ago the new administration came in and cleaned up the campus. Ever since then Vikan Middle has shown continued growth. this year they were the highest achieving middle school in the district for the second year in a row. they have advanced math classes, advanced language arts classes, and they also provide interventions for struggling readers. they have enrichment classes for those that need support and extra rigor for those with high achievement. such as STEM (science / technology for advanced students) Iwould bet that the angry grandmother who says her kids would never come here had problem children because the principal there makes sure that only well behaved and respectful kids are at VMS. We love our school and have sent all our children through there ( all 5 of them!) We will have no problem sending our grandchildren there as long as the administration keeps up their high expectations for learning and behavior"

"Awful support. Two grandchildren of mine went there and when the leadership changed hands; the overall attitude became intolerable to continue enrollment there. Bullies were overlooked even after valid complaints and it just seemed some kids who truly needed help were left to fall through the cracks. Was told my grandchild functioned at certain levels and was given very good grades, however at the new school it is apparent that they were seriously behind. The teachers communicate quite well. The feeling inside the building is thick with a jail-type atmosphere: very uncomfortable, I loathed to enter and be treated so unfriendly, but I continued for the kids."

"The teachers are fun, but the kids learn. They may be in the poorer catigory, but the staff still has all of the right equiptment. Great school!"

"I would NOT recommend this school to anyone, this is the worst middle school I have ever seen. Not only are the students mean but it is allowed to go on in the school. They have no rules for kids been cruel to one another. The principal and the assistant principal have no clue what they are doing! Very sad School I would not go there!!"
